The Brotherhood of the Blessed Virgin of the Dolores exposes its patrimony and history in the Barón de Benifayó museum (09/03/2019)

The municipal museum Barón de Benifayó hosts until April 21 an exhibition of the heritage and history of the Brotherhood of the Most Holy Virgin of Sorrows, which includes the image of 1942 made by the sculptor José Sánchez Lozano and also an image of a dolorosa, the work of Roque López.

Months of work and effort that have culminated in this complete sample where there is no lack, a mantle and a blue banner embroidered at the beginning of the 70s by women of the municipality, the first suit of portapasos of the end of that decade, the coat Blue velvet by Antonio Fernández "El Capellán", the costume of altar boy that many children from Pinar del Rio have worn over the years, the virgin girl costume of 1954 that was made for Pilar García Ballester or the symbolism of the Virgin;

the heart with the 7 daggers, the Hail Mary and the fleur de lis.

Numerous members of the Brotherhood of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows and neighbors of San Pedro del Pinatar and other locations visited the first day of the exhibition on Friday night.

To the appointment, there were many authorities such as the mayor of the municipality, Visitación Martínez, the councilor for Culture, Silvia Egea, the parish priest, Roberto Burgos or the president of the Cabildo Superior, Mariano Visedo as well as representatives of other fraternities and brotherhoods.
