Juan José Castejón Martínez goes through the story of Holy Week in San Pedro del Pinatar step by step in his proclamation (07/04/2019)

The crier of this year, made a broad tour of all the brotherhoods and fraternities, highlighting details of their images, artists who made them or people responsible for them.

Juan José Castejón Martínez, in charge of proclaiming Holy Week this year, was received this morning at the City Hall of San Pedro del Pinatar by the Mayoress, Visitación Martínez, and the president of the Superior Council of Fraternities and Brotherhoods of Holy Week, Mariano Visedo.

In the presence of the Tercio Romano and a representation of the Nazarenes of the different brotherhoods and brotherhoods and the band Unión Musical, Juan José Castejón was received at the Plaza Luis Molina and then signed in the book of honor of the Villa and was imposed the golden shield in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall.

After that, the delegation moved to the Church of San Pedro Apóstol where the parish priest, Roberto Burgos, blessed the Nazarenes who represented the different groups and brotherhoods that participate in the Holy Week of the municipality.

Later, Juan José Castejón announced the Holy Week in Pinar del Río,

making an extensive tour of the history of the municipality with stops in characters and relevant events for San Pedro del Pinatar, such as the start of its Fair, the creation of the Fishermen's Association, the civil war or the arrival of penicillin, without forgetting , some emblematic places like the house of the Baron de Benifayó or the Modern Cinema.

Castejón Martínez, knows very well the Holy Week in Pinatrense since for many years he had the responsibility of organizing it as secretary of the Cabildo, years in which Holy Week grew and was declared of Regional Tourist Interest, an important impulse with which it was possible to differentiate processions and make them known inside and outside our Region.

A long stage in which, among other successes, highlights the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the processional processions, an event that brought together thousands of people and was a new boost for these holidays.

The preacher, already in the final part of his speech, made an extensive tour of all the brotherhoods and brotherhoods highlighting details of their images, artists who made them or people responsible for them.

A detailed tour since 1951 in which the first processional parades were held to this day, with a sense of remembrance of those who are no longer among us, such as Rafael de los Ríos, Antonio Escudero or Rafael Mellado among others.

Finally, the president of the Cabildo Superior, gave delivery to the crier, processionist in the brotherhood of San Pedro Apóstol as his father and grandfather, a plaque in gratitude for the many years of dedication to the Holy Week of San Pedro del Pinatar.
