Last Friday, May 31, the park of La Aduana hosted the Boba Turtle Festival, an activity coordinated by the Museum of the Sea, dependent on the brotherhood of fishermen, in collaboration with the City of San Pedro del Pinatar and associations Columbares and the local Scout group.

In this activity, which featured workshops and children's entertainment, the name chosen by the jury for the loggerhead turtle that is exhibited in the museum, among those proposed by schoolchildren from different educational centers, was announced.

This festival, which featured environmental workshops and crafts, by the scout group and the association Columbares, is part of the informative project that the Museum of the Sea has carried out in the last year to make the turtles known to schoolchildren boba, and the need to protect this species, through the story of a specimen that has been in that museum for over 35 years after being found by a local family on the municipality's beach.

Thus, after a didactic visit to the museum of the sea, the children of the fifth grade of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Los Antolinos, Maspalomas, Los Pinos, San Pedro Apóstol and New Castelar College, presented their name proposals through several murals. this turtle and finally the jury, composed of professionals from different fields voted among the proposals, Sallyma being the winner.
