The City of San Pedro del Pinatar and Ecovidrio, a non-profit organization responsible for managing the recycling of glass containers, presented the 2016 Summer awareness initiative and provision of facilities to the trade plan that aims to increase recycling glass in the summer which is recycled approximately 30% of total packaging waste glass throughout the year.
In fact, during the summer months of 2015 a total of 196,485 tons of glass containers were recycled in Spain.
Summer Plan Ecovidrio have the collaboration of 75 bars and restaurants in the town, which they will be given buckets adapted to facilitate the work of recycling.
Also, new points will be installed and recycling containers vinilarán with summery motives in addition to existing previous campaigns to raise public awareness.
According to the latest data for 2015, the residents of San Pedro del Pinatar recycled a total of 24,339 kilograms of glass, which means that each inhabitant recycled average 14.8 kg.
Regarding the rate of containerization, San Pedro del Pinatar, stands with an average of 171 inhabitants per container, and at present a total of 142 igloos for packaging waste glass installed.
