The Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness and TGD of the Mar Menor offers various programs and projects such as Day Center, youth service, psychological care, family school or occupational activities.
The Town Hall of San Pedro del Pinatar today unanimously approved the transfer of the use of the Building of Multiple Uses to the Association of Relatives and People with Mental Illness and TGD of Mar Menor (AFEMAR).
This building, located on Council Street Mariano Henarejos and which has been paralyzed for several years since its construction, will be ceded to AFEMAR for a period of 10 years for the assistance of people with mental illness, as well as counseling and psychological support to families.
Thus, the association AFEMAR will make in this building an investment of more than 110,000 euros for its adaptation and start-up.
The mayor has highlighted the work of this group at the county level, as it is an association that works in the development of different programs and activities aimed at the rehabilitation and social inclusion of people with mental illness and generalized developmental disorder, As well as counseling and psychological support to family members.
The AFEMAR association currently has a day center in Lo Pagán that serves more than twenty users, as well as ten minors in the youth service, as well as their families.
It also develops programs of occupational, leisure and leisure activities and awareness campaigns, a growing activity that makes the space where they are located becomes insufficient.
