A dog route, contests and exhibitions at the Dog's Day celebration (09/05/2017)

This activity, organized by the Union of Pinatarenses Businesses, honors this year Bruno, the Newfoundland dog who along with his caretaker was part of the service of surveillance in beaches of the locality and who passed away last year.

The Councilor of Fairs of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejón, accompanied by José Luis Oliván, representative of the Union of Businessmen Pinatarenses and David Álvarez, rescue group Mare Nostrum, presented the events that will be developed on the occasion of Dog Day Next Sunday, May 14, in the esplanade of Lo Pagán.

The Day of the Dog is carried out with the aim of promoting and promoting respect for animals, in collaboration with associations for the protection and protection of animals.

This year will focus on homage to Bruno, the first rescuer dog in Spain, who along with his caretaker carried out surveillance work on the beaches of the town and who died last year.

Thus, this event will include a canine route, which will depart from the esplanade of Lo Pagán to the area of ​​Molino Quintin, starting at 09:30 hours, in addition to the fifth edition of the National Canine Beauty Contest, coordinated by the company canine Of the Region and in which will participate dogs of diverse races, between which are champions of Europe and the World, explained Oliván.

In the outside of the esplanade, from 10:00 to 13:00 hours, various training exhibitions will be held, coordinated by the Ayocan Dog Trainers Association.

At 13:00 hours a large exhibition of aquatic rescue with dogs, coordinated by the Mare Nostrum rescue group, will be held, in which two teams (dog trainer) will participate, which will perform various exercises with boats, watercraft and canoe

The day will conclude, around 13:30, with the delivery of the Bruno Awards, which in this edition will be awarded to Lost, a German shepherd dog that has been a search and rescue dog for people, drug detection and Of therapy.

Also receiving this award is the Association Dogs Recue Calasparra, which looks after 25 dogs, some of them found in unfortunate conditions after suffering abuse.
