The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and CaixaBank's business area director in San Javier, Carlos Merelo, today signed three collaboration agreements, under which the La Caixa Social Work will participate with 6,000 euros in The financing of training and social projects.
The mayor thanked the entity's willingness to collaborate with the City Council and explained that under this agreement, 3,000 euros will be allocated to the financing of the Popular University, a project aimed mainly at training for employment and that this Year includes more than 50 courses and has reached 1,700 students.
Obra Social La Caixa will also contribute 1,500 euros to the Solidarity Basket, an initiative launched in 2013, which aims to support local associations that distribute food to the most needy families in the locality.
Thus, this "basket solidarity" is intended for the acquisition of fresh products and other complementary to those offered by the food bank.
The social work La Caixa has wanted to join, also with 1,500 euros, to one of the latest social initiatives launched by the City, such as the provision of aid to socio-health associations.
