On the occasion of the activities of the 125th anniversary of the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of the Carmen, an exhibition has been inaugurated in the art room of the Casa de Cultura, with the manual and literary works that the Pinatar students have done after the educational talks Centered on this festivity that, the Department of Tourism of San Pedro del Pinatar, taught in schools Maspalomas, San Pedro Apostle, Our Lady of Carmen and Las Esperanzas.
Reliquaries, poetry, drawings, songs and other works made in different techniques compose this exhibition that can be visited until June 21 and in which a total of 154 students participated in a primary room, made with the aim of bringing this party Of regional tourist interest, to the smallest ones.
The jury, composed of a representative of the Association of the Virgin of Carmen, another of the Fishermen's Guild and a representative of the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, chose the winners who, through their artistic skills, reflected the tradition of This holiday in the locality.
Finally, the Councilor for Tourism, Silvia Egea accompanied by Guadalupe García, Councilor for Education, presented the prizes to Cristino Martínez, first prize, student CBM San Pedro Apóstol who decorated a ceramic tile with the image of the Star of the Seas, the Second prize went to, Saray Patrocinio, student CBM Nuestra Señora del Carmen, whose reliquary was chosen as representative of the original proposal made by the rest of her classmates.
Finally, the third prize was awarded to the students of CBM San Pedro Apóstol who surprised with a beautiful song dedicated to the Virgin of the Carmen.
