The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, explained that the ordinance for the use and enjoyment of the beaches of the municipality, which will come into force on July 24, aims to make health safety and protection compatible with tourism and The ecological balance of the coast.
Among the basic rules of use is that the beach is free, public and free of common uses, that the walk, stay and peaceful bath have preference over any other use, and that no beach is for nudist or naturist use in the town.
As for the criticisms made and false statements about this rule, the mayor has clarified:
That the prohibition of "physiological evacuation on the beach or in the sea" is a point that aims to preserve hygiene standards on the beach and that is regulated in many ordinances of the coast at national level.
In no case ball games are generally prohibited, but are typified as a minor infraction only when they cause discomfort to other people on the beach.
The Mayor has reiterated that this is not an exclusive rule and is repeated in many ordinances in the same direction.
Minor infractions are not fined with 750 euros, this number is the maximum normative for this type of irregularities.
"It's about applying common sense, seeking a civic coexistence between beach users, not a persecution, and is not an exceptional or unique rule, but its precepts are identical to dozens of regulations."
