More than 830 primary and secondary school students benefit from the San Pedro del Pinatar book bank (13/07/2017)

The Federation of Fathers and Mothers of Students FAPA Pinatar is in charge of the management of this book bank that this course opens new facilities in the hotel of associations.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and the councilors of Citizen Participation and Education, Fuensanta García and Guadalupe García, respectively, visited this week the municipal book bank, managed by FAPA Pinatar and has a new headquarters in the hotel Of associations, former House of Youth.

The director of FAPA, Sebastián Mateo, accompanied by the team of volunteers who manage the book bank showed the work done in recent weeks.

There are currently 595 families enrolled in the book bank, which means that there are more than 830 primary and secondary students who purchase their books through this system.

Since the beginning of the reservation period this week, more than 1,400 textbooks reserved for all compulsory levels have already been registered.

The mayor reiterated the commitment of the City with this project, as reflected in the increasing economic endowment for the book bank and the assignment of these new facilities.

He also emphasized the altruistic work of the entire FAPA team that dedicates many hours to favor the access of all the families of the locality to the textbooks of their children, in optimal conditions.

For his part, Sebastián Mateo thanked the transfer of these new facilities that have a greater space for the storage of books and in which have enabled five positions of attention to the public, which greatly streamlines the work compared to previous years.

The bank of books has had this year an investment of 12,000 euros for the purchase of textbooks of secondary education, of which 9,950 have been contributed by the City.

The president of FAPA Pinatar also said that thanks to this contribution, there are enough books and there is currently no waiting list to access them.

The Bank of Books of San Pedro del Pinatar has been four years maximizing the educational material resources which is translated in the reutilization of the textbooks that at the end of the course are in good condition, which is a form of saving at the same time Which encourages cooperation between families and acquires new copies at a lower cost.
