La Mota beach hosts cinema sessions and activities with virtual reality glasses on regional heritage (18/07/2017)

Free activities begin today in San Pedro del Pinatar and will continue during July and August on the coast of Cartagena, Aguilas, San Javier, Mazarrón and Los Alcázares. It is the second year of the initiative "A heritage of cinema", in which Participated more than 5,000 people last summer

The Minister of Finance and Public Administrations, Andrés Carrillo, presented today the initiative with the mayors of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

Of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno;

Of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez;

Of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez;

And the mayors of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo;

And Los Alcázares, Anastasio Bastida.

The action, which is being carried out for the second consecutive year, consists of the installation of a traveling tent that houses games with virtual reality glasses on the heritage of the Region, and a summer cinema area where documentaries on the film will be uninterrupted. Regional heritage.

Both virtual games and documentaries have been produced by the Integra Foundation, an agency under the Ministry.

As a novelty, this year the beaches of Cartagena de Isla Plana and Los Nietos are incorporated, and due to the success of last year, which was attended by more than 5,000 people, will be doubled the virtual reality glasses posts, which go from Two to four, "so that more people can enjoy this experience," said the counselor.

These activities are aimed at the whole family and will be held from 20:00 to 24:00 hours, for two days in each locality.

The tent, with more than 24 square meters, has the virtual reality area where visitors will have two game options, 'The Mystery of the Ricote Encomienda', which through tests reveals the architecture of the building Of the Encomienda and its function as headquarters of the Order of Santiago, since its construction in the fifteenth century;

And 'The old cathedral of Cartagena', which opens this year and shows how this emblematic building was before being destroyed after the Civil War.

At the same time, in the film space, 19 documentaries on the natural and cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia, such as the posidonia, the railway system, the windmills, the naval defensive system of the Austrias, the monastery Of San Ana in Yecla, the tower houses in the Region, the river Segura and the diversity of the coast.

Andrés Carrillo said that "this initiative is in addition to the large number of leisure activities promoted by the regional government on the coast and is an opportunity to live a unique experience in which new technologies are united, promoting the traditions of our Earth".

The activity opens today in Lo Pagan (San Pedro del Pinatar) and can be visited in the esplanade of La Mota until tomorrow.

This initiative is funded by European Feder (80 percent) and the Autonomous Community (20 percent), and involves an investment of about 32,000 euros.

The activity is part of the thematic objective to improve the use and quality of information and communication technologies and access to them, and the reinforcement of inclusion and electronic culture.
