The plenary session of the City council has approved today the modification of the fiscal ordinances that supposes the suppression of this rate, a new reduction of the tax of the IBI to compensate the revision of cadastral values ​​and the generalized freezing of the rest of taxes and rates.

The full City of San Pedro del Pinatar today approved the modification of tax ordinances that affect various taxes and municipal taxes for 2018.

The main change in this regard is the abolition of the rate currently paid for the license to open establishments, with the aim of boosting economic activity in the town and encourage the creation of new businesses, explained the councilor of Finance, José Fernández

In addition, the tax rate on Real Estate Tax (IBI) is reduced from 0.69 to 0.66 percent, with the objective of compensating the revision of the cadastral value.

The mayor of the Treasury recalled that the City Council for the fifth consecutive year this tax, passing in this period from 0.80 to 0.66 percent.

A measure that has allowed the majority of the municipal census not to be affected by the increase in the revision of the values ​​of the cadastre.

In this sense has specified that 26,810 taxpayers will see their receipts do not rise or vary slightly, with decreases of up to 4% or small increases that do not exceed 2%, which is 88.51% of the total municipal census.

José Fernández recalled that to these measures for the benefit of the taxpayer, there is a generalized freeze on the rest of municipal taxes and fees.

A fiscal policy that dates back to 2011, with the aim of not increasing the tax burden on citizens, offering them facilities to cope with payment, and promoting economic activity.

Thus, he recalled that in this period have taken measures such as the continued reduction of the tax rate of the IBI, the reduction of surplus value, bonuses and reductions in occupancy rates of public roads, water or traction vehicles, among other reductions;

in addition to the improvement in the conditions of fractionation and postponement of the taxpayers' debt.
