The City Council establishes the participatory budgets for 2018 (09/11/2017)

This body of citizen participation has debated, among other issues, the proposals for participatory budgets, the new EDUSI call, upcoming investments and projects for the town or state of the Mar Menor.

The City Social Council, made up of representatives of the business sector, neighbors, trade unions, health and humanitarian aid associations, representatives of the elderly, political leaders and municipal technicians, has addressed the start-up of the first budgets in today's meeting. participatory activities of San Pedro del Pinatar.

Through this initiative, the budget for the year 2018 will have 100,000 euros for actions proposed by neighbors, associations, mayors, or those collected by the Citizen Service office.

The projects include children's areas, canine parks, areas for fitness, spaces adapted for people with disabilities, improvement of stands and changing rooms in sports facilities;

stands for cultural and leisure events and the creation of a sports boulevard on Avenida de El Puerto.

The Department of Citizen Participation will conduct an online voting process, where citizens of Pinar del Rio will know the details of each project and may vote for their favorite option.

Thus, an online mechanism to vote from November 14 to 20 will be enabled, which will be completed with face-to-face voting points that will be enabled in the pensioner's home and the Citizen Service Office (from Monday to Friday during opening hours of these centers)

The mayor, Visitación Martínez, stressed that "through this initiative, the Government Team ratifies its commitment to citizens to find the right tools to work hand in hand with the neighbors, offering them ever greater decision spaces and creating real spaces for participation ".

STRATEGY SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT

On the other hand, the plenary addressed the presentation of the new strategy of sustainable and integrated urban development (EDUSI), with which the City will opt for the third call for obtaining European funds through the European program FEDER sustainable growth 2014-2020 .

Among other projects, this Strategy includes the regeneration of neighborhoods such as Los Sáez or San Esteban;

the rehabilitation of emblematic spaces such as the Floridablanca spa and the urban center;

the renovation of the promenades of Lo Pagán and Villananitos and the rehabilitation of this area for the enhancement of the fishing heritage.

The document also includes a wider network of bicycle lanes, the installation of electric vehicle charging points, an energy improvement plan, the implementation of electronic administration or the creation of a Smart City management platform.

All these projects would be developed between 2017 and 2023 and the total budget is 6.25 million euros, of which 80%, 5 million, would be financed with FEDER funds to be awarded these funds the City of San Pedro del Pinatar .

Among other points, the City Council also addressed the total budget for 2018, new investments for next year, the current situation of the Mar Menor, or the recent creation of the Sectoral Tourism Council, among other topics.
