Talks and workshops aimed at prevention center the commemoration of the International Day for the elimination of violence against women (13/11/2017)

San Pedro del Pinatar kicks off tomorrow the program of activities held on the occasion of November 25, which will focus on prevention and awareness of gender violence.

The Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Pelegrín, today presented the program of activities of the City Council for the Commemoration of the International Day for the elimination of violence against women, which takes place on November 25.

The activities will begin tomorrow, Tuesday November 14, with a talk on Prevention of Gender Violence, organized by the Association of Families and Women of the Rural Environment (AFAMMER), starting at 11:00 in the Center for Social Services and Women Agustina Santiago.

This talk will feature the presentations "inequality as a cause of gender violence: The social construction of inequality", by the psychologist Araceli Rodríguez, and "How to detect gender violence and recognize the abuser", in charge of Susana García Calvo.

After which a debate-colloquium will be opened.

The program also includes gender violence prevention workshops on November 17, 22 and 23, aimed at third and fourth ESO students at the Dos Mares and Manuel Tárraga Escribano Institutes, by the social educator Mª Ángeles Rosique.

On Monday, November 20, a talk will also be held, under the title "Women and men: history of five generations", by Blanca Nieves Pérez Francia, retired teacher, at the Social Services Center from 11 : 30 hours

On Thursday, November 23, Radio Pinatar will also broadcast a space aimed at raising awareness, which will be entitled "Conductas que es lo no parece."

The program will conclude on Friday, November 24, with a public act against gender violence at City Hall, with the reading of the official manifesto by the mayor, Visitación Martínez.

In addition to these activities, the Department of Social Welfare develops other activities on a permanent basis, such as "Prevention and intervention in families in which gender violence is generated", included in the Family Intervention Program, as well as workshops on prevention and sex education in the institutes throughout the course.
