A total of 1,146 Pinatarenses have participated in the voting of the first participatory budgets of San Pedro del Pinatar, among the six proposed options, the sports boulevard on Avenida del Puerto has been the winner, with 33.3% of the votes.

The City of San Pedro del Pinatar has concluded the final phase of Participatory Budgeting, an initiative through which 100,000 euros will be invested in the project that most citizens choose.

Thus, from November 14 to 20, residents registered in the municipality and over 18 years of age have been able to vote through the municipal website among six projects, as well as in person in the Pensioner's Home and the Citizen Service Office.

The winning option, which will be included in the chapter of investments of the municipal budgets of 2018 has been the sports boulevard on Avenida del Puerto, with 382 votes, 33.33%.

This project will involve the rehabilitation of a green area and the creation of a sports area, with various fitness circuits, offering another alternative for the practice of outdoor sports.

The second most voted option, with 274 votes, a 23.91%, has been the construction of bleachers, toilets and storage spaces next to the football field in the Municipal Sports Center.

The creation of four canine parks in different parts of the municipality, has been the third option with 14.22% (163 votes), followed by the Los Pinos playground, with 12.65% (145) Los Antolinos Park it has received 12.3% (141) and the portable stands for events have received 3.58% of the votes (41).

The majority of participating citizens have opted for online voting, which has been the medium chosen by 1,061 Pinatarenses, while 14 have done so through the Citizen Service Office and 71 in the Pensioner's Homes.

The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta García, thanked the welcome of this initiative and reiterated that the Participatory Budgeting is another step in the municipal policy of open government, which has been reflected in various initiatives such as the creation or enhancement of consultative bodies and various participatory processes over the past years.
