The journalist and adventurer offered a talk at the Center for Nautical Activities of Lo Pagán about the experience and motivations that led him in 2013 to try to cross the Mediterranean in a small boat without any support, experiences that he collects in his book "Isolated "
"I was dead for 12 hours", this is how Quico Taronjí began to shed the story of his great life adventure, the one that led him to try to cross the Mediterranean in a trimaran kayak and that ended with a shipwreck off the Tunisian coast.
An experience that, as he explained at the Nautical Activities Center of Lo Pagán, brought him closer to death but also reaffirmed his vital change, the one that months before led him to leave everything to embark on this adventure and turn his passion for navigation in their way of life.
Thus, his book is a "logbook" of his particular odyssey, which tells the details of this exceptional adventure, but it is also an emotional journey for the reasons that led him to change his life, the absolute loneliness in the long journeys and, mainly, his passion for navigation.
The Department of Sports organized this activity on Friday, November 24th in collaboration with the Nautical Activities Center, Seaworld Adventure, Bahia Traiña Hotel Group, El Rubio 360 ° and Cyclone.
NAUTICAL DAY
The weekend at the Nautical Activities Center was completed today with a Cyclone sailing test, from the Auxinavy shipyard, in which the adventurer also participated and a day of promotion of the Kayak Polo, in which the possibility, to anyone interested, to practice and learn about this sport, from the hand of the UCAM AD Pinatarense.
