The Councilor for Civil Protection and Emergencies, Angela Gaona, the mayor of Education, Guadalupe Garcia, and the Head of the Emergency Service and Civil Protection, Vicente Salas, this week presented the new health endowment of seven defibrillator monitors intended for public schools of the locality.
In addition, during these weeks all the staff of the schools in course of First Aid, of Basic Life Support and for the handling of the DESA Semi Automatic External Defibrillator are being trained.
These monitors allow a quick and easy intervention in case of cardiorespiratory arrest.
This action, which has involved an investment of more than 9,000 euros, is included in the cardio-healthy and cardioprotected municipality program that the City is implementing in recent years and which involves the installation of these defibrillator monitors in public spaces, such as municipal buildings, sports facilities, pensioners' homes, schools, libraries, beaches and other spaces where a large number of people are concentrated.
Thus, San Pedro del Pinatar has a total of 31 defibrillator monitors, whose maintenance and training is the responsibility of the Department of Civil Protection that periodically reviews the status of the same and teaches courses for proper management, both initiation and recycling .
Defibrillator monitors are easy to use, compact, lightweight and designed to meet a wide variety of defibrillation and monitoring needs in one device.
