The carving of the sculptor José Sánchez Lozano is the first image to go through the streets of the municipality, opening the processional processions that will continue until Easter Sunday.
The Virgen de Los Dolores, carved in 1942 by the sculptor José Sánchez Lozano, with roots from Pinar del Rio, began the Holy Week of San Pedro del Pinatar, whose processional processions will continue until next Sunday of Resurrection.
This procession is the prelude to the Week of Passion, the Virgin, relives the suffering of her son who, according to tradition, is represented by a heart pierced by seven daggers.
It emphasizes the deep tradition of the titular step of this procession, since it is one of the primitive brotherhoods of the Pinatarense Holy Week, as well as the beauty of its size, that after nine o'clock at night the journey began accompanied by the drums of San Juan Evangelista, the Third and Throne of the Holy Grail, the Third and Banda de Cornetas and drums of the Virgen de los Dolores and the Tercio de Manolas, and after the image, the procession closed the Official Comitiva and the San Pedro Pinatar
Tomorrow Palm Sunday continue processional parades in the town, at 11:15 hours there will be the procession of Las Palmas that will begin with the blessing of the Palms in the Plaza de la Constitución and later procession to the Church of the Holy Trinity where The Las Palmas Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon.
At the same time, around 11:30 am, the Procession of Las Palmas will take place in Lo Pagán, from the Residence of the Franciscan Sisters to the Church of Our Lady of Carmen.
In the afternoon at 5:30 p.m., the procession of Jesus Triunfante will take place with the participation of the San Juan group, a Nazarene representation of the Holy Week groups, Cornetas and Tambores de San Pedro Apostol and Samaritan bands.
