Tourism awards the best images of the Regional Park Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro in the Photographic Journey IX (24/02/2011)

The Department of Tourism of the City of San Pedro has released three best pictures in the categories of fauna, flora and landscape of the ninth edition of this contest you have submitted more than 100 photographs and 39 who participated groups.

The Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has announced the jury's decision of the Ninth Regional Park Photographic Journey Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro, which has been awarded the best pictures in the categories of fauna, flora and landscape.

In this edition, a total of 39 groups and 105 pictures were presented, representing an increase of 14 percent in the number of participants and an increase of 29 percent in pictures contest.

The prizes for this contest, held for a decade, consisting of 700 euros for the top finishers in the three themes, selected by a jury composed of members linked to tourism, the environment and photography.

In the category "Animals" has been awarded the photograph "Invisible Life," the group "Wigs", consisting of four participants from Roldán (Torre Pacheco) and held on July 31.

In this picture, held in the bushes adjacent to a walkway, it shows a common chameleon (Chamaeleo Chamaeleon), which usually live in coastal pine forests and can be found in the east and Andalusia.

The award in the category "Flora" was the group "Laguna", consisting of three participants in Villena (Alicante) with photograph "Symphony in Red" held on October 9.

This photograph was made in the Barraca Quemada beach and shows the Salicornia (Sarcocornia fruticosa), a plant adapted to saline environments and acquires a reddish color by the effect of salt.

Also in the category "Landscape" has been won by the group "Adventurers", Murcia, with the photograph "Vela Latina", held next to the mill of Knitter and which shows the traditional fishing boats of the Mar Menor.

The purpose of this journey, which took place during the months of June to December 2010, is to sensitize visitors to the Natural Park of the need to preserve the environmental values of the salt and sand and they discover the diversity and richness through the lens of the camera.

In addition to these prizes, the winners of the three groups' favorite photo voted by Internet, through the tourism website of the City, have been presented with the Guide Regional Park of Salinas de San Pedro, provided by the Directorate General Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, which works in this activity with the City.
