The Department of Culture and Celebration has decided to cancel this year's event due to the high flamenco its high economic cost that exceeded the maids only 24,000 euros.
The new government team of the Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has decided to suspend the nineteenth edition of the Festival Flamenco de San Pedro del Pinatar, scheduled for July 2, which represented a cost of 24,190 euros in the caches of artists .
The Department of Culture and Celebration has adopted this measure in the context of economic actions implemented during the first weeks of the municipal government team to contain public spending.
The councilman of Culture and Celebrations, Silvia Egea, has indicated that this measure is attached to changes in the program of the festivity, which has meant a saving of 83,500 euros.
In this regard, he added that, like other actions planned for the holidays, the Festival was not signed and was endowed with the necessary budget.
Egea has also indicated that in addition to spending caches, the City had to bear the cost of sound and light installation and maintenance of the site planned for the concert, while the organizer was left with the total collection of box office.
Furthermore, he assured that although the festival had been publicly announced three months ago, sales locations recorded to date were very slim.
However, Egea stated intention of the City to recover in the coming years, this festival because of its tradition and roots in the township.
The nineteenth Festival de Flamenco de San Pedro del Pinatar included performances by Capullo de Jerez, El Polaco, El Duende and the group La Fragua.
