The mayor of San Javier, Martinez Visitation, and the president of the Association of Patchword the municipality, Pilar Vincent, accompanied by other members of the Municipal Corporation and dozens of neighbors, yesterday inaugurated the fifth show of works by women associated this group.

The exhibition will remain at the Casino Cultural until next Saturday, June 9, includes more than 30 quilts, and other items such as rugs, bags, aprons, dolls or decorative items.

A sample of work that stands for the color, originality and creativity of more than 20 women who regularly meet to make these elaborate articles.

The association of Patchword of San Javier, which has 80 partners, was born seven years ago and since then has held five exhibitions and a national meeting in 2009 attracted over 250 women associations in Spain.

It has also carried out several solidarity actions in collaboration with associations like Aidemar or group "Much to Live" by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in the municipality.

Also, in this exhibition show a quilt, made jointly by several partners, which will raffle on 29 June and whose profits will go to organize new activities and meetings related to Patchword.
