The mayor of San Javier, Martinez Visitation and Social Policy Councilwoman, Frances Pelegrin, attended last Sunday, October 7, at the commemoration of the "International Day of Older Persons", held at the home of pensioner "Jose Espinosa" Lo Pagan
A total of 350 over San Javier participated last Sunday, October 7, in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, held in the home of the pensioner "Jose Espinosa" Lo Pagan and included a Mass, a meal of coexistence, a prize draw and a dance to close the day.
The events began around 1300, with a homily very close to the elderly, by Don Justo, pastor of the Pagan.
Subsequently, there was a meal of coexistence in which were present the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez Councilwoman Social Policy, Francisca Pelegrin, and the presidents of the Pensioner associations Lo Pagan and San Pedro, Ana Cutillas and Josefa Navas, respectively.
The presidents of households welcomed the support of the City Council to carry out these acts and recalled that the food has been covered by the associations.
For his part, Councillor for Social Policy, Francisca Pelegrín mentioned activities and trips throughout the year are organized into two homes and highlighted the strong participation of all partners.
The mayor stressed the important contribution of older people in society pinatarense, as people who have contributed to the development and progress of the municipality along your life with work, effort and sacrifice.
In addition to these events, the Saturday, October 6, was held for another 160 more food related to households, which also included a prize draw.
