The European Parliament and youth mobility within the EU focus the Seventh Conference on Citizen Participation (27/03/2014)

The days of Citizenship been addressed, among other things, the rights and duties of European citizenship, the EU Parliament, Erasmus +, volunteer programs and European identity

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, has today opened the Seventh Conference on Citizenship, which have been held today at the Center for Social Services under "Contribute to the Europe we want."

The mayor has said, as one of the priorities of the day, bringing the European rights and duties to citizens and explain the importance of elections to the European Parliament, held this year, and functions of this institution Community.

It seeks to equip younger critically and that they are aware of the possibilities offered Europe through training and are voluntary.

The Director General of EU and External Relations of the Autonomous Community, Carmen Sandoval, opened the series of lectures with a talk on the effects of belonging to Europe in the region and the importance of the decisions of the European Parliament on a day to Citizens day.

Subsequently, the head of the Europe Direct office in the Region, Teresa Allepuz, has reviewed the history and development of the European Union, its institutions and bodies, and sources of information to the public and participation mechanisms.

The new Erasmus + program focused intervention Cecilia Huertas, teaching technical advisor to the Service Innovation and Teacher Training of the Ministry of Education, providing all the new opportunities for young middle school students, and professional qualifications offered in this program European with the known university exchanges.

Ana Jiménez Millán, coordinator of service and volunteerism to the diversity of the University of Murcia explained European programs and volunteering at the local level is also presented the Volunteer Plan of San Pedro del Pinatar.
