The play "Pickle" by Samuel Peña, gets the first prize of micro La Sal (24/04/2014)

The House of Culture hosted yesterday Book Day, the awards ceremony of the First Competition for fiction "Salt", organized by the Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar and who have attended a total of 182 works

San Pedro del Pinatar celebrated World Book Day last night with the awards ceremony of the First Competition of micro La Sal, organized by the Department of Culture in collaboration with Spanish Salinera.

This competition, attended by a total of 182 micro-stories, asked participants to tell a story in less than 150 words with salt and starring element in order to encourage and reward the creative and literary spirit around one element most representative of the municipality.

The jury of journalist Alexia Salas García;

Samper Henarejos Montserrat poet and writer Francisco Sánchez Lizón, awarded the first prize of 150 USD and second prize, the short story "Pickle", the Madrid Samuel Peña;

while "The Harvest", the pinatarense María Estela Gomez, won the best short story references to local author.

The Councillor for Culture, Silvia Egea, and the representative of Spanish Salinera, Pedro Vallejos, granted awards made to both authors.

The Spaniard Samuel Peña, expressed his gratitude to the municipality of San Pedro before reading your story, in which salt is the key element of a mysterious death.

Meanwhile, María Estela Gomez, paid tribute to his account of the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar and men for decades working in it.

The celebrations of World Book Day continues today, Thursday, April 24, with the opening of the exhibition of expressionist painting "Androgyny", painter and illustrator Álvaro Peña, in the House of Culture.

On Friday 25 April at 21:00 hours, the House of Culture will host the presentation of the books "In the eyes of the Hedgehog" second work of Francisco Sánchez Lizón pinatarense writer;

"Sons of Alicante, legend Sebastien Venom", of Cordova and Sonia Alberto Valverde, and "Draft of a blank book," Toño Díez.

Also during the weekend, on 26 and 27 April, the Constitution Square will host the Book Fair, in which Arco, Tahiche, Hilario Martinez and Bariloche participating libraries.

As part of this puppet show workshops, storytelling and children's theater aimed at the little ones made.
