The presidential adviser and Employment of Murcia, José Gabriel Ruiz, and the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitacion Martinez, today inaugurated the Youth Hostel of the municipality, a facility located in a municipal plot of 5,000 square meters and the construction of which has been financed entirely by the Autonomous Community through Youth Institute.
José Gabriel Ruiz said the new facility has been designed as a school-hostel, for hostel offer spaces and spaces for the development of educational and sports programs.
"The regional government committed by young people, and also by the actions of leisure time because they are another facet of education through cultural exchange, youth mobility and youth domestic tourism," stressed the Minister.
For his part, Mayor noted that this facility is in response to the demand of the youth of the town to have leisure spaces, training and living, while contributing to the development of tourism, economic engine of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Likewise, Visitacion Martinez stressed the status of hostel, near the Regional Park of Salinas and Arenales and only meters from Mar Menor and Mediterranean, which advances the implementation of environmental, water sports and adventure, among others.
This modern building, designed by architect Raul Torres pinatarense and has had a budget of 2.4 million euros, covers an area of ​​1.589,73 sq meters.
The ground floor is equipped with dining room, training room, computer room, conference rooms, common areas and activities booking.
The accommodation area, with capacity for 126 people, has 18 rooms, three of them adapted for disabled guests, all equipped with bathroom and shower.
This floor laundry is also located.
The hostel also has a sports court with own dressing rooms, gardens, parking, basement and an attractive under cover.
This building is located on the Avenida del Mediterráneo, a few meters from the regional park of Salinas and Arenales, a place of great environmental and tourist importance, and the natural beaches of the Mediterranean, in a well connected and easily accessible from the highway area AP-7.
The hostel, the management there has recently been awarded to local company Seaworld Pinatar already offers an extensive program of activities for children and youth, such as courses and workshops in English, extracurricular activities, sports and water.
This activity is reflected today in the open days of the center, which included activities for children three to ten years, zumba session, presentation of the program of activities for autumn-winter, and a talk in which Mikaseda youth associations and Art Unlimited has presented the projects that develop hand the Department of Youth.
At open house was attended by representatives of the Regional Administration, members of the Municipal Corporation and responsible for local associations and groups.
