Holy Week begins with the requested pinatarense streets and poster presentation (19/02/2015)

The mayor gave last night the streets General Council of groupings to allow Easter processions in a traditional ceremony in which also unveiled the poster, this year it features the image of the Virgen de la Soledad

The representatives of the guilds and groups of San Pedro del Pinatar, escorted by the Roman third and a band of bugles and drums of St. Peter the Apostle, procesionaron last night to City Hall to ask the mayor of the town streets.

The event, traditionally held on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, the mayor gave the streets General Council of Associations for processions, as well as the grant to Easter brotherhoods, with an amount of 53,000 euros .

During the ceremony, Visitation Martinez said the union of the people who are part of the Easter pinatarense, a hallmark of the municipality and that "those who started this Easter half a century ago would be proud now of how it has grown and relevance has achieved ".

Also appreciated the efforts made by the various guilds and reflected on this "catechesis on the street" during Holy Week is admired by locals and visitors to the town.

For his part, President of the General Council of groupings of Holy Week, Mariano Visedo, conducted a review of the various processions, from Good Friday to Easter Sunday and claimed the figure of the Nazarene pinatarense and work it develops throughout the year to enable Easter.

He also presented the poster of Easter, an image of the Virgen de la Soledad, "in which the immense pain of a mother looks at the loss of her son and calls us all to charity, to try to mitigate that tear "Visedo said.

The ceremony concluded with a prayer streets, by the pastor Roberto Burgos, and the offering of a wreath at the monument to the Nazarene, located in the Plaza of Spain, which honors the work of the deceased pinatarenses that since 1951, created and praised the Holy Week in the village.
