The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez opened the VIII Conference on Citizen Participation, "Transparency and Good Governance in Local Government, Engaging Learning, Learning to Participate" this morning.
The mayor took stock of what has been assumed to govern with citizens under the legal framework of Regulation of Citizen Participation and Social channels as the City Council.
Alongside Visitation, Manuel Pleguezuelo, Director General of Citizen Participation, explained the three pillars to talk about Open Government, based on Transparency, Participation and Partnership and stressed that the primary role of the Directorate which he presides is to encourage participation citizenship, promoting participatory processes to involve citizens in decision-making, in this connection, he highlighted the Regional Plan for Addiction and Family Law Mediation.
Regarding the methodology developed in these participatory processes, Antonio García Collado, Technical Office of Transparency and Public Participation, explained the moments of participation and the methodology used for these deliberative participation processes, listing the importance of coordination, planning, flexibility, information and transparency and response.
To present the Regional Plan addictions, Juan Jimenez Roset, Regional Coordinator of Drug Dependence of the Directorate General of Public Health of the Region of Murcia, explained that we can win the war on drugs but with dedication and also continuity, introduced new initiatives and perspectives to treat these addictions.
Regarding the Law on Family Mediation, Purification Velasco Vivancos, BA in law and Mediatrix of eme Point and member of the neutral platform to promote mediation in the region, said family law mediation and the results being offered in aspects such as the educational community in the Department of Social Services by offering good results.
In the second part of the session, more focused on the local level, Technical Citizen Participation, Eva González, presented those projects that are part of good participatory to be paradigmatic examples that offer response to a situation, in principle practices, unsatisfactory and strengthen participatory democracy.
Among the projects the participatory process PGMOU enumerated, decisions of the Board of City on social solidarity projects like shopping, formative teenage days, intergenerational projects (Crusades Memories) and individual participation in volunteer programs.
In conclusion, Sivia Egea, Executive Councillor for Citizen Participation, recognized the work of associations that have excelled in projects of involvement and social participation, such as joint basket, to meet the families at risk of social exclusion: Caritas, Red Cross Mar Menor North and Love for Love. Other associations have outstanding social involvement projects such as AIDEMAR, AFEM and association AMMA.
