The Music Unit of the General Air Academy pays homage to the Virgen del Carmen 2019 (08/07/2019)

The Plaza de la Constitución in San Pedro del Pinatar hosted last night the traditional concert that the AGA Music Unit offers on the occasion of the Virgin of Carmen Festivity for 14 years.

The Music Unit of the General Air Academy (AGA) returned this year to be part of the celebrations in honor of the Virgen del Carmen with a concert held in the Plaza de la Constitución on Sunday night, July 7.

Under the direction of the musician Captain José Manuel Castelló Sánchez, the Music Unit delighted the audience with a selection of themes in which classical compositions along with more current and cinematographic themes had outstanding presence.

The night began with the overture for the band "Alba Overture", by Ferrer Ferrán and continued with the bullfighting pasodoble "El Torico de la cuerda", composed by Luis Serrano Alarcón and the zarzuela in two acts "Katiuska, the Russian Woman", Pablo Sorozábal.

The concert continued with "Love of my live" and "Bohemian Rhapsody", from the legendary band Queen, the final theme and from the throne room of "Star Wars", composed by John Willians and "Who wants to live forever? ", theme of The Immortals composed by Brian May.

After a brief pause they interpreted General Carrasco, military march dedicated to this general from Pinar del Rio, who was head of the air sector of Murcia and composed by Constantino González and a pasodoble to San Pedro del Pinatar composed by José Manuel Castelló who handed over the mayor Visitación Martínez.

The concert was closed with the Fifth Symphony of Beethoven merged with Mambo number 5 by Pérez Prado, and the traditional Salve Marinera, Parranda, Las Corsarias and the National Anthem.

During the ceremony, the secretary of the Virgen del Carmen Association, Francisca Martínez, gave the Chief Colonel of the General Air Academy, Miguel Ivorra, a plaque of gratitude for the constant and close collaboration of the Academy with this festivity.

In that same act, Miguel Ivorra highlighted the union of the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar with the General Air Academy, strengthened in recent years through partnerships with various entities and associations of the municipality.

For its part, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, praised the provision of the Academy and its involvement in the party, through this concert and the traditional pass of the Eagle Patrol on July 16, coinciding with the maritime pilgrimage.
