During the summer period, more than 200 repair and maintenance works have been carried out in public schools, in addition to the conditioning of the outdoor areas and the reinforcement of security.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez and the Councilor for Education, Carmen María López, have visited the local schools on the occasion of the beginning of the school year, which has started with more than 3,000 children enrolled in children and primary school.
The mayor highlighted the normality in this first lesson in the nine centers of primary and primary education in San Pedro del Pinatar, such as public schools Infantil Number 1, Los Pinos, Los Antolinos, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Maspalomas, Villa Alegría and Las Esperanzas, as well as the San Pedro Apóstol concerted center and the private New Castelar College;
in which 298 three-year-old children stepped on the classrooms for the first time.
Visitation Martínez has influenced the permanent collaboration of the City Council, through the Department of Education, with the school community, collecting the demands of parents and teachers through periodic meetings such as the management teams of the schools and the representatives of the different AMPAS.
SETTING UP OF SCHOOL CENTERS
During the summer months the departments of Community Services and Education have coordinated around 200 repair and maintenance work in the seven public schools in the town, responding to the demands of the educational community and ensuring that the schools are in perfect condition for the start of the course.
Like each course, locksmith, carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, electricity, glassware or gardening in classrooms, common areas and courtyards have been carried out.
Among other works, arrangements of blinds and glass, painting of classrooms and outdoor areas, adaptation of toilets, replacement of fences and meshes, repair of windows, plugs, luminaires, radiators and pipes;
installation of shelves, placement of tiles and slabs, pruning of exterior woodland, etc.
Different spaces have also been adapted, creating new classrooms and storage areas.
These works have been completed with a thorough cleaning of the centers, which is also repeated on Christmas and Easter holidays, as well as the conditioning of access to schools with vertical and horizontal signage, to ensure the safety of the little ones .
