Throughout the month of November the House of Culture hosts the ninth edition of this event that brings together prominent amateur theater groups from the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community every year.
The Councilor for Culture of San Pedro del Pinatar, MÂª Carmen Guirao, today presented the VIII Exhibition of Amateur Theater of the town, which this year will be held in November with the representation of the three finalist works and a final gala that It will feature the performance of the theater group Butaca de Oro.
The councilor explained that a total of 10 amateur theater groups from Murcia and the Valencian Community have attended this exhibition, being selected as finalists Theater in Construction, with the play 'Seven screams in the sea';
Generación Estudio 1 with 'Jonathan Harker's diary', and Teatro del Matadero with 'El Landó de six horses'.
Thus, the Exhibition will begin next Friday, November 8, with 'Seven screams in the sea, by Alejandro Casona, which tells how a Christmas Eve dinner aboard a liner changes the destiny of the lives of first-class passengers.
The people in charge of carrying out this work are the ilicitanos 'Theater in Construction', a company born in 2010 and that has traveled important competitions and competitions of amateur theater of all the national geography with this drama.
On Friday, November 15, it will be the turn of the Generación Estudio 1 Cultural Association, from the neighboring municipality of Pilar de la Horadada, who will perform their version of 'Jonathan Harker's Diary', an adaptation of Bram Stoker's famous novel 'Dracula' , directed by Antonio Navas.
The amateur theater show closes the finalists cycle on November 22 with 'El lando de six horses', by Víctor Ruiz Iriarte, a two-act farce that starts with a group of elders in a hall that seems to ride in a horse carriage by la Castellana, a montage of El Teatro del Matadero, with more than 40 years of experience on the boards and which holds dozens of awards and recognitions to its assemblies.
The Theater Show will conclude on November 29 with the awards ceremony Gala, which will be enlivened by the Golden Armchair theater group and in which the prizes for the best representation will be announced, endowed with 500 euros, while The second prize consists of 300 euros and the third finalist will get 200 euros.
A special prize from the Public will also be awarded, endowed with 200 euros.
The jury is composed of María del Carmen Martínez Lloris, Bachelor of Art History, staff of the municipal library and a great fan of theater and literature, Katy Jiménez, amateur actress and member of the theater group of San Javier and Belén Luengo, director and theatrical actress in different companies of the Region.
The tickets to each representation have a single price of 3 euros and a bonus of 10 euros for the 4 nights has also been put up for sale, which also includes the ballot.
