The Association for the Integration of the integration of the disabled of the Mar Menor region (AIDEMAR) has celebrated today the act of laying the first stone of this new building that will have 68 residential places and that will be built on a plot of 5,290 meters assigned by the City Hall.
The president of Aidemar, Francisco García, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the managing director of the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), Raquel Cancela, the general director of People with Disabilities, Conchita Ruiz, and the director of The Residence of Aidemar, María del Mar Pérez, participated in the symbolic act of laying the first stone of the new residential center of Aidemar, which will be located on a plot of 5,290 square meters located on Avenida de Los Flamencos.
The president of Aidemar has stressed that with the construction of this new center one of the historical demands of the families that, since 1982, are part of this association, with a center with 68 places that will guarantee the attention to users when their Parents or guardians cannot take care of them, 24 hours a day.
In addition, the creation of a day center is contemplated in a second phase.
The project, by the architect from Granada, Bernardo Cerrato, is divided into the main building, which occupies 2,553 square meters, with a residential area, dining room, administration area, sanitary area, warehouse, workshops, laundry, etc.
The center will also have 1207 square meters of gardens and courtyards.
The work, which will be carried out by Construcciones Miguel Madrid e Hijos, has an approximate execution period of 12 months.
Visitation Martínez has highlighted the important work that this association carries out in the Mar Menor region, being a reference in the attention to disability from all areas and at all levels of development, since it has day center services , early care center, special education center, special employment center, employment resource center and residential center and housing.
In San Pedro del Pinatar the association has a day center, which serves 150 users and a Special Employment Center, which ensures the labor and social integration of people with disabilities that facilitates the employment of 130 people today.
