The City Council requires the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura measures to solve the problem of the continuous avenues of water that flood the municipality.

The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar received the scourge of the Gloria storm, with special virulence in the early hours of Monday 20 to Tuesday 21 January, although the rains lasted until practically noon yesterday.

The rains exceeded 90 liters m2 and caused numerous problems, especially due to the avenues of water of the Ramblas de Siete Higueras and Los Alarcones that run through the area of ​​El Mojón and the town center.

Local police and civil protection services and municipal warehouse workers struggled throughout the episode to solve the problems raised by Gloria.

In total 39 notices, of which 10 were for water entering homes that only affected the inner courtyards without the need to act.

Only in one case the firefighters have had to shrink by flooding, in the bomb pit of the Municipal Shelter.

Another 14 are calls related to water on the streets and requests for road cuts, 9 of vehicles trapped by water, 2 for sewer covers lifted, 1 for a hole in the public thoroughfare, 1 fall of a ledge, 1 fire in electricity meter and 1 drop of a canopy inside a patio of a house.

Countless calls from neighbors were also requested requesting information on the state of roads and possible access to the municipality.

Twenty local police officers as well as 9 civil protection emergency technicians participated in the device, as well as continuous monitoring by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez and the area councilor, Angela Gaona.

Today, Wednesday, work continues on the cleaning of the affected places, especially on the road of El Mojón that is still cut off to traffic due to the presence of mud that will remain open in the next few hours.
