Pinatarense sportsman Nico Medina gets the double by proclaiming himself the champion of Spain in both disciplines.
The municipal sports center Prince of Asturias of San Pedro del Pinatar hosted this past weekend, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February, the Spanish Championship of Grappling and Grappling Gi in which more than 500 athletes from all over the country participated, that have been fought in hundreds of fights from the lower to the senior categories.
Pinatarense athlete Nico Medina, managed to revalidate the double in Grappling and Grappling Gi, proclaiming himself champion of Spain in both disciplines.
In addition to Medina, the Murcia club Grappling 360, was proclaimed champion by clubs, and the Murcia Federation of Wrestling, did the same for federations, thus reaping an unprecedented success for the Murcia Grappling.
At the local level, in addition to the successes of Nico Medina, it is worth noting the participation of other athletes from the Pinatarius Wresterling club, which finished fourth, and they played a very good role.
The results of the local competitors were the following, adding a total of ten medals:
In Grappling sub 15, Cristina Lopez 2nd in 57kg, Yasine Chadli 1st in 73kg and Mohamed Amin 2nd in more than 73kg.
In Grappling cadet, Ilias Arbib 7th in 58kg, Fernando Patón 3rd in 76kg, Karim Bougtib 4th in 76kg, Naofal Nahraoui 5th in 76kg, Ayub Mrabet 1st in 85kg and Julio Javier Castro 3rd in more than 85kg.
In junior Grapping, Rubén López 2nd in -92kg.
In senior Grappling, Irene Montreal 3rd in -71kg, Braulio Pérez 12th in -66kg, Fernando Nicolás Medina 1st in -77kg.
In Grappling Gi Senior, Fernando Nicolás Medina 1st in -77kg.
