This association regularly attends to 80 needy families, thanks to an important group of volunteers that manages private donations, the products they receive from the food bank, those acquired through the solidarity basket, as well as administrative procedures and home visits
The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Zoilo Ballester, accompanied by the technician of the area, made a visit to the municipal premises assigned to the local delegation of Caritas, in the Hotel de Asociaciones, to exchange experiences on the Solidarity Basket project, with the director of Caritas Parochial, Antonio Tárraga, and volunteers of said association.
The Solidarity Basket is based on the distribution of staple foods to collaborate with the neediest families in the municipality, fresh foods that add to the non-perishable foods they receive from the Food Banks of the Region, being able to offer a healthy diet and complete with proteins, vegetables and vitamins essential for health.
To serve 80 families, plus cases that may arise from a social emergency, Parish Caritas has a large number of volunteers who visit the neediest families in their homes, in order to monitor each case, granting each family Decent treatment and assessing your needs.
Also assessing their employment status and offering tools for the job search.
For any neighbor of the Municipality that needs it, the service of parish Caritas is carried out daily from 10:00 to 12:00 hours, from Monday to Friday at the Hotel de Asociaciones Municipal, former youth house, located in the Avenida del Taibilla corner with Avenida de los Antolinos.
