The House of Culture hosted last Thursday, March 20, the I Mar Menor Educational Forum, Patrimonial Sea, in which institutes of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Cartagena and Los Alcázares participated.
This day, organized by the Department of Geography and History of the IES Las Salinas del Mar Menor and aimed at more than a hundred students from five institutes of the Region, aims to make known among the students the uniqueness of the Mar Menor and its environment, while sharing their great heritage value, from different visions.
Thus, this forum had the contribution of the students and teachers themselves, as well as experts from different associations and groups that work in the protection of the Mar Menor, to which projections on this environment and traditional fisheries were added.
The Councilor for Education, Carmen Mª López, thanked the development of initiatives like this, which work to raise awareness about the historical, heritage and ecological importance of the Mar Menor.
This educational Forum was attended by the Dos Mares, Manuel Tárraga Escribano, Ruiz de Alda, Mar Menor, Antonio Menárguez Costa and Las Salinas del Mar Menor institutes.
In addition, the City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar, the Integra Foundation, the Association of Naturalists of the Southeast ANSE, Hippocampus Association, Confraternity of San Pedro del Pinatar and AMPA of the IES Las Salinas collaborated with this initiative.
