More than 2,000 people and about 40 troupes fill the streets of San Pedro del Pinatar with color (24/02/2020)

The municipality lived a massive Carnival parade on Sunday with the participation of local groups from other municipalities in the Region and the province of Alicante.

The streets of San Pedro del Pinatar once again hosted the Grand Carnival parade, which departed at 5:00 p.m. from Las Salinas Avenue and toured Emilio Castelar Street and Romería de La Virgen del Carmen Avenue to the Municipal Tent , on the esplanade of Lo Pagán, followed by thousands of people who enjoyed carnival rhythms throughout the tour.

The Universe of the Kebanna Ballet opened the parade, followed by the fairies of The Housewives, the oriental fantasy of the Golden Years and the animal world of the Infant School No. 1 and the felines of ADAPT.

Also participating in the parade was the comparsa Estrella Glamurosas, which this year moved to Mexico, accompanied by Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, followed by fish and seahorses embodied by the members 'De Pelo Güeno', the little dalmatians of Los Limoneros, Party bees in the Hive and the return to the Future of As you want, which closed the local representation with the Musa 2020, Carmen Olmos, and the Muso 2020, Félix López, and his fantasy Reborn.

The frenetic rhythm of Yaiza Dance School opened the courtship of visiting troupes, followed by the marine world of Nuevo Encanto, the striking Roman helmets of Yemanyá, the yellow feathers of Alessi, the ice goddesses of Blanca de Sal and Morena de Soles and the blue-colored fantasies of Rosazul and Samaná.

They also participated with a couple, with a design inspired by the burlesque, the bullfighting world of Universe, the aliens of Challenge, the tiaras of the Queens, the comparsa Teke Teke and those of the Walk with spring costumes in green and coral and the Indian tribe from Timanfaya.

The parade followed with the elegance and simplicity of Tukutaka, the fantasy in red of Tymbalia, the world of Aladín de D'Escandalo, the majestic caps of Perseidas, the coordinated dance of the Majorettes of Aljucer, the Aztec airs of Kímbara and the spectacular 'Namibia' fantasy of the Kissamba woman.

They closed the parade, the Brazilian rhythms of Divertilandia, the sweet treats of Icue, the fantasy 'Euphoria' with striking purple pheasant feathers of Shambala, the dresses inspired by the cabaret of Black Gold, the striking caps of Orange Blossom and the fantasy 'Victoria 'by Baracay with his spectacular muse.

AWARDS

After the parade, the mayor of the town, Visitación Martínez, and the councilor of Festejos, Javier Castejón, delivered carnival prizes in different categories to the municipal tent, together with the jurors, composed by the singer Salva Ortega, the host of Radio Sureste, Azucena Sánchez, the dancer Coral Muñoz and the designer Raquel Samper, and Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma 2020.

Thus, in the category of local comparsas, the third prize of 200 euros went to Las Amas de Casa, the second of 400 euros was taken by Glamorous Stars and the 600 of the first prize, Kebanna.

The nursery school No. 1 was the best school group with 200 euros, while the Golden Years received the prize for the funniest local troupe, also endowed with 200 euros.

The visiting groups also received the jury prizes, the fourth prize, of 150 euros, went to Tukutaka, the third, of 200 euros, for Challenge, the 400 euros of the second was taken by the Shambala comparsa and the first prize endowed with 600 euros went to Kisamba.

This year, the Department of Celebrations has allocated a financial aid of 200 euros for all participating groups that with their joy and effort keep the illusion alive at this party.
