San Pedro del Pinatar claims the sum of wills in the fight for equality to commemorate 8M (06/03/2020)

The City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar today commemorated International Women's Day with the reading of the official manifesto, by the mayor, the reading of the winning stories of the short story contest "For equality between Women and Men" and the exhibition of the photographs of the contest "with M de Mujer".

The official act of the International Women's Day in San Pedro del Pinatar has started with the intervention of the Councilor for Equality, Fuensanta García, which has stressed the need to continue working together to value the achievements and eliminate any type of inequality, from the different administrations.

For its part, the mayor said that "after 25 years of the Fourth World Conference on Women, it is more important to remember all the women in history, those who are, those who are not and especially those that they will be, that with their efforts, they helped and did not stop defending the rights of women in the world. "

The mayor has concluded that "equality requires permanent commitment and work, a sum of wills necessary to build a society based on the pillars of equality and democracy."

Subsequently, the prizes for the story contest "For equality between men and women" have been awarded, in which high school and high school students from IES Manuel Tárraga Escribano, New Castelar College and CEC San Pedro Apóstol participated.

The first prize in high school, endowed with 100 euros for sports equipment, has been awarded to Ángela Echavarría, a third-year ESO student at CEC San Pedro Apóstol, for her story "If I could ...", while the second prize, endowed With 50 euros in sports equipment, it was for Gustaw Miller, a third-year ESO student at New Castellar College for "Maria, the queen of science".

In the Baccalaureate category, a first prize of 100 euros for sports equipment has been awarded to Miriam Aviles, of the Manuel Tárraga Escribo Institute, for "The night when everything changed"

After reading these stories, the prizes have been presented to the winners of the ninth edition of the "Con M de mujer" photography contest, in which 70 photographs of 35 participants from various parts of Spain have participated.

The exhibition can be seen in the press room attached to the plenary hall.

The first prize, endowed with 200 euros, has gone to Miguel Menchaca Vanesa, with the work "Women of the Future: Wrestlers and Brave", also image of the poster of the programming of March 8.

The photograph "La Maestra", by José Tomás Rojas, has won the second prize, endowed with two hotel nights and a spa circuit at a local hotel.
