During his presentation, the general director of the Natural Environment, Fulgencio Perona, explained that "with this measure we intend to reduce the number of vehicles that access the beaches every day crossing the Salinas and Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park, thus reducing damages that can be caused to the flora and fauna of this environment ". The minibus, which is already in operation, has a frequency of half an hour, from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 16:00 to 20:00, every day of the week, although The schedule will be adapted according to the needs of the service and will be in operation until the beginning of September. Along with this, an initial vehicle information and control campaign will be carried out in a coordinated manner between personnel from the General Directorate for the Natural Environment (technicians, environmental agents and environmental informants) and City Council personnel (Civil Protection and Local Police). It should be noted that the noise of mass traffic and parking outside the designated areas causes direct and indirect damage to the flora and fauna of this protected natural space.

Specifically, factors such as excessive noise, trampling of flora, increased waste and inconvenience to protected fauna, among other damages.

In addition, the location of vehicles outside the authorized areas prevents the correct work of fire fighting services or sanitary emergencies. For this reason, signage has been installed indicating that parking is prohibited outside the places designated for it, which was a factor of degradation of the natural and landscape values, so those persons who park their cars in the side of the road.
