More than a hundred people have participated in these initiatives of the Department of Youth, a short video contest through Facebook and Instagram, in which the participants have shown their creativity during the weeks of confinement and a contest aimed at the Young people will address various problems that also affect them through these social networks. The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the councilor for Youth, Javier Castejón, today presented the prizes for the competitions "Participate, change, win" and "If you get bored you lose", two initiatives of this council that have been developed through social networks. Thus, "Participate, Change, Win", which has been developed in collaboration with the Mikaseda association, aims to sensitize and motivate the youth population about problems that affect them such as the use of social networks themselves, bullying, discrimination by gender or sex reason, the consumption of alcohol or other drugs, or the deterioration of the environment, among others. Thirteen publications have participated in this contest, reflecting these and other problems from the perspective of the young people themselves.
Thus, the first prize has been for the user "Flopigreat", equipped with a tablet, while from the second to the fourth place they have obtained a smart watch and the fifth and sixth are portable headphones. On the other hand, the prizes of the contest "If you get bored you lose" were delivered, in which nearly a hundred short videos participated during the confinement, with the aim of entertaining the people of Pinar del Río during the pandemic. Thus, purchase vouchers worth 50 euros have been awarded to spend in the commerce of Pinar del Río for the videos of the group The Emoticons and their version of "Here there is no one who lives", the version of "Queen" by Jesús Darknoise, the group "My family and I", "Nina Vera", Glamorous Stars and Hippocampus Association. The mayor thanked for the wide participation in these initiatives and appreciated that the confinement has served to explore other ways of leisure and entertainment at the local level, such as social networks, through these contests.
In addition, she highlighted that all the prizes have been acquired or have a direct impact on local commerce.
