The interactive exhibition "The salty gang, discovering the Mar Menor" will tour the riverside municipalities (05/08/2020)

The general director of the Mar Menor, Miriam Pérez, accompanied by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, opened this morning the interactive and itinerant exhibition "The salty gang, discovering the Mar Menor" that, during the month of August, will tour the beaches of the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Cartagena and Los Alcázares, whose municipal representation was also present at the event."The activity is intended to sensitize neighbors and tourists to the importance of the involvement of neighbors and tourists in the respect, conservation and care of the Mar Menor through training and knowledge of it," explained the director general.

The traveling exhibition will tour the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar (August 5-11), Los Alcázares (August 12-18), San Javier (August 19-25) and Cartagena (August 26 to September 1).An exhibition that is equipped with audio guides and recreational challenges designed for all audiences and whose objective is to highlight the important biological heritage of the Region of Murcia through the flora, fauna, environment and ecosystems of the largest wetland in Europe, the Mar Menor.

It can be visited throughout the month of August without a time limit, as it is located in public and open spaces as an anti-COVID-19 security measure, and will have a specific safety and hygiene plan.It will have six different environments "Vegetable refuge", "Underwater treasure" "Coloring the sky and the earth / Birds", "Landscapes of the Mar Menor", "A Mar Menor to enjoy / Tourism" and "Unique Ecosystem in Europe", through which, the visitors, will be able to know the characteristics, curiosities and secrets of the Mar Menor, as well as its environment, flora and fauna.All of them will be articulated through some of the funny characters that make up La Gang Salada and inhabit the Mar Menor called Caballito, Langostino, Anguila, Medusa, Seba and Nacra, as representative animals of the ecosystem.

The voices of these fun characters will lead visitors through an audio guide that can be played through personal mobile devices after scanning the QR code.

A way of understanding the exhibition without a time limit and with interactions that favor the understanding and understanding of the entire public, as well as the visual memory of the biodiversity of the Mar Menor.The inauguration, in addition to the general director of the Mar Menor, Miriam Pérez, and the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, were attended by Antonio Luis López Campoy, Councilor for the Environment, Animal Welfare and Culture of Los Alcázares and María José Díaz Aragón, Councilor for Personnel, Local Development, and María Casajús, Councilor for Infrastructure, Services and Coast of the Cartagena City Council.
