The Beach Police Unit closes a summer season marked by Covid-19 (29/09/2020)

The agents of the San Pedro del Pinatar Beach Unit have focused their work on the information and application of the municipal ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the beaches, as well as compliance with the security measures established by the pandemic.The device of the San Pedro del Pinatar Beach Unit, which has been launched for the fifth consecutive year during the summer period, between the months of June, July, August and September, formed by six agents and a corporal from the Local Police, who have had 6 "mountain bike" type bicycles, 2 Quad's and 1 "All-terrain" vehicle to monitor the 13 kilometers of coastline of the town, as well as promenades and surrounding areas.The objective of this Beach Unit has focused on offering information to the public, especially on the security measures established by the coronavirus pandemic and guaranteeing peaceful coexistence and safety on the beaches of the town.Thus, one of the main functions of this unit has been to offer information to the citizen, carrying out a total of 902 actions in this area.This year, due to the current situation, "Leisure Premises" have been inspected for the correct operation and establishment of hygienic-sanitary measures, established by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia, verifying municipal licenses and information on the guidelines issued.Regarding the sanctions directly related to the ordinance of Use and Enjoyment of the Beaches, they have been estimated at 81, most of these acts have been for keeping animals on the beaches (58).In addition, traffic complaints have increased (781) since special emphasis has been placed on the parking lots of Ctra.

Del Puerto, located on the verges of the same, in collaboration with the Environmental Agents of the "Regional Park of Arenales and Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar "in order to protect and conserve the protected areas of native flora and fauna, in addition to the usual complaints about parking, obstruction and misuse of the road.The Beach Unit has also carried out 272 identifications of people, has participated in the search and accompaniment of lost minors and elderly people, has collaborated with the citizen security patrols of the same Police force and the lifeguards of the COPLA Plan in different actions.The agents of this Unit have verified the proliferation of the use of "DRONES" since their use in public spaces, as well as natural ones, is totally prohibited and they have also participated in the removal of objects and animals that appeared on the beaches and have collaborated with the council Community Services in the maintenance of public areas, reporting flaws in urban furniture and common areas, among others.
