[Juan Carlos Prieto Mart nez presents the reissue of his new book + Tontheridas (18/12/2020)

Juan Carlos Prieto Mart nez, from aspense, presents the re-edition of his new book + Tontheridas (Quarantine Edition) with Editorial Club Universitario.

His first collection of poems, Tontheridas, was published a few weeks before the confinement.

He already warns us before entering his book: "Those who READING gave their time to these poems, were guilty of their LEGEND", alluding to the wonderful reception that the first edition had and the support of the public, he has decided to reissue it to record everything that has happened in this atypical 2020. The author has a degree in English Philology from the University of Alicante, has been working as a teacher for 15 years between the United States and Spain, the last three established in Murcia.

He is a multifaceted person, since he not only dedicates himself to writing, but his hobbies include painting, composition and travel; According to the author himself, he has visited practically 70 countries.

+ Tontheridas is a compendium of poems, a recapitulation of the experiences lived by the author who embodies in this collection of reflections, an "anthology of my cravings", as he calls it.

The title itself already tells us what we are going to find in the collection of poems.

In the words of the author: "Wounds that with the passage of time turn into nonsense, but which are necessary lessons that life gives us to know what we want and what we don't".

Like life itself, this book mixes sweet experiences and other more bitter ones, such as heartbreak, the pain caused by a breakup, the burden of living locked up suffering a pandemic; the emotion of a new love, among others.

There are many topics that the author treats with affection and a certain irony.

As he himself states: "What I have tried to do is turn the words around and look at what is under each one of them, looking for a double meaning and even, sometimes, a new meaning".

There is a specific poem to which the author has a special affection, dedicated to the Virgen de las Nieves, patron saint of his town, Aspe.

Due to covid-19, its patron saint festivities were suspended, as were most of the patron saint festivities in other Spanish towns, but with the peculiarity that it will be four years that the Aspenses will have to wait to be able to celebrate them.
