Murciano José Pardo wins the sixteenth edition of the cycle race Memorial El Capellán (27/11/2016)

A total of 84 runners from the Region and the province of Alicante participated in this event, which in this edition has modified its layout, with a circular urban circuit in the area near the Regional Park of Salinas and Arenales and La Mota.

Murcia rider Jose Pardo, of the Peña Cyclista Components Renault, was the first to cross the finish line in the sixteenth edition of this urban test with a time of 1 hour 23 minutes and 48 seconds.

San Pedro del Pinatar has hosted this morning the sixteenth edition of the cycling race "Memorial El Capellán", organized by the local cycling club, with the collaboration of the City Council and this year has modified its usual circuit.

The race, which this year has left the Integral Security Center Adolfo Suárez and in which have participated 84 riders, has passed without incident despite the rain in the last laps.

The XV memorial "The Chaplain", which began after 10:30 hours, after a minute of silence and the ribbon cutting, has consisted of a circular urban route of eight laps and 64 kilometers that has passed by the road of El Puerto, the promenade of La Mota and El Mojón.

The average speed of the race has been 45.82 kilometers per hour.

At around 12 o'clock, Murcia rider Jose Pardo crossed the finish line, followed by runners Antonio Sabater, from Elda, and Ramón García from Bici Sport.

The winner of the fourth flying goal was Pedro José López, while the first local to cross the finish line was Pedro José Vera.

This test is scoring for the 1st Vuelta Mar Menor, which will be closed next Sunday in Los Alcázares.

After today, José Pardo is placed as leader of the regional event, while Pedro Jose Lopez, in the goal.

The cyclist's day ended with the presentation of prizes, by the Mayor, Visitation Martinez, Sports Councilors, Daniel Pérez, and Citizen Security, Ángela Gaona, the president of the cyclist Pinatar, Juan García, and Fina Sáez, Widow of "El Capellán", member of the deceased club and who annually honors in this race.

The prizes for the three winners have been hams, and gifts have also been distributed for the first 40 classified, loins (from 4 to 15), sausages (from 16 to 30) and bottles of wine (from 31 to 40).

It has also been rewarded the flying goal in the third round and the first three classified local.
