More than a hundred swimmers inaugurate the Endurance Swim Mar Menor circuit in San Pedro del Pinatar (04/09/2017)

San Pedro del Pinatar was the initial venue for the Endurance Swim Mar Menor swim course, which was made up of three events, held at the San Pedro del Pinatar Center for Nautical Activities this weekend, to be held on 1 October in the Perdiguera Island (Los Alcázares) and, finally, the closing will be Sunday, October 15, in La Manga, San Javier.

At 08:30 on Sunday, September 3, the Nautical Activities Center was given the first of the three distances to be traveled, the Full distance with 3,000 meters of swimming to be done in a circuit of two turns of 1,500 meters.

In the men's category, David Ibáńez Navarro left no option to his rivals finishing in 39min 58sec, Rob Osborne and Juande Cremades completed the podium.

On the other hand, in the female category, Maria José Pastor was shown in the waters of the Mar Menor, winning in more than 10 minutes to the second classified, Martina Marinari and the third classified, Heather Gould.

At 10:30 began the Half distance with 1,500 meters to complete in 2 laps of 750 meters.

The great star of the day, the Russian national champion Anastasia Kucheruk, 29, offered an exhibition to all the public, remaining as an absolute champion.

In the men's category, Juan Antonio Sánchez, with a time of 29 min 20 sec, was done with a tight victory ahead of Daniel Lopez, who arrived in just 3 seconds.

Berni Blanco completed the podium.

In the women's category, the Russian champion made the 1,500 meters in 27mins 36 sec, outnumbering Lara López and Marta Belmonte in more than 5 minutes.

The last of the distances, the Open category, departed at 11:30 to travel 500 meters in a lap.

More than 100 swimmers in this first inaugural test of the Endurance Swim Mar Menor circuit, organized by the company Endurance Sport Solutions in collaboration with the Regional Government and the sports councils of San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcázares and San Javier, in their big bet for enhancing sports tourism in the Mar Menor.

The great attraction of the second test to be held on October 1 will be the departure in one of the most emblematic places of the Mar Menor, as is the island of Perdiguera.
