The council reports on the importance of recycling household with the campaign "Recycle, learn and earn" (16/12/2010)

The Department of Environment, in collaboration with Ecoembes, has developed several activities to raise awareness of recycling among residents of the municipality, providing information in schools and weekly markets.

During the past two months, the Department of Environment, in collaboration with Ecoembes association, has developed an information campaign on domestic recycling in the municipality, under the theme "Recycle, knowledge and win", with the aim of raising awareness neighbors and to promote selective collection of paper, cardboard, cans and glass.

Through informants and volunteers, the campaign has focused on explaining how they should properly separate waste for recycling and inform the media that exist to facilitate this task, such as municipal parks or selective container.

As part of the campaign, a group of ecoinformadores have conducted surveys on waste separation at the entrance of the town's weekly markets in both Spanish and English.

In addition, informants shared directories, where users can see how they should conduct proper household recycling, and awarded the knowledge of users tribolsas, for the selective removal of container, glass and paper and cardboard.

Within this activity have been carried out about 300 surveys in which 90 percent of respondents correctly answered eight or more questions from a total of 10.

The "Recycle, learn and earn" has also included activities in schools, where games have been brought to the students.

In these contests, children, divided into two teams, had to find out where different wastes were deposited, such as packaging, paper or cardboard.

This activity aimed at primary school students has been developed in the playgrounds and gyms in schools, in addition to the municipal EcoPark.

The Department of Environment also states that citizens who want to recycle tribolsas or guides can collect free of charge, at City Hall.
