The awards "María Moliner", awarded by the Ministry, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and Coca Cola, have given the best local projects to encourage reading.
The reading center of Lo Pagan will get a lot of 200 books by the development of the "toy library" under the state contest Reading Promotion "María Moliner", organized by the Ministry of Culture, collaboration with FEMP and Coca-Cola Foundation.
Thus, the "library of toys, have been selected from over 500 projects submitted in Spain, and was the only award in the region which has gone to a reading center, because the other eleven projects have been winners Murcia granted to public libraries.
The winning project has been aimed at children aged 0 to 14 years and has been the development of activities to encourage reading through games and toys related to reading and writing.
Thus, the sand molds used to form letters, puppet theater, toys and cards graphomotor, or traditional games like Hangman or Scrabble.
It has also launched a "bebeteca" aimed at younger children, equipped with cloth and plastic books, which aims at children from an early age, become familiar with reading.
In this activity, involving some 600 children from public schools in the parish pinatarense, who have performed more than thirty visits to the reading center, where it has been treated, from a playful and fun, children adopt habits reading.
In parallel with this project, the reading center of Lo Pagan has developed other activities to encourage youngsters to get close to the lyrics.
Among these encounters with people who work in traditional trades people, such as fishermen, farmers and shoemakers, who explained their offices using the bibliography of the center and linking their work with literature, and "Story Time" the celebration of World Book Day, or the compilation of lists of recommended books.
