The People's University extends its training offer to facilitate the employment of young people (25/01/2011)

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, and the Councillor for Education, María José Albaladejo, today presented the offer of the University to the second quarter, including courses in care dependency, risk prevention and the second edition of the Senior class of UPCT

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, and the Councillor for Education, María José Albaladejo, today unveiled the training offered by the University to the second quarter of the academic year 2010-2011 which includes eight new courses.

Among the novelties of this quarter, the mayor has highlighted the courses for job training as Specialization Care Unit, who will give the Institute on Aging, University of Murcia.

In addition, also bid for the first time two free courses in Occupational Health and Safety and Job Search Tools.

In this online training, directed search and job specialization have also expanded the levels of courses in accounting and computer aided design.

The mayor has highlighted the good reception given pinatarenses between the VHS since it was launched in 2008 as last year enrolled more than 2,000 people and only in the first quarter of this year and 1,900 students have been collected , so it is expected to reach the 3,000 entries.

Also, the mayor noted that 70 percent of the students enrolled are aged 18 to 35 years old seeking educational alternatives available to improve their position in the labor market.

In this sense, the Councillor for Education has indicated that in addition to the bid made to employment, the VHS includes courses designed to meet the needs of leisure and youth training, so have expanded the levels of the most popular courses such as language, new technologies and guitar.

In addition, the People's University also continues this quarter with the Hall of Elders of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, targeting over 50 years and which this year will focus on environmental issues in the region.

Alba explained that following the success of the course on geology, delivered in the first trimester and involving more than 60 pensioners, UPCT now form the largest environmental problems in the region, focusing on issues such as allergies caused by pollution, ozone and water issues in Murcia.

The People's University completes its range of training, set this year by more than sixty courses among which include literacy, parent education, Spanish language or ancillary care.

Also, the People's University has a wide variety of languages, with different levels of English, French and German as well as new technologies, with courses in Linux, web page creation, computer-aided design, advanced Internet or imaging Digital, among others.

The registration period for the second quarter, opened on 1 February and begin to be taught courses at the middle of that month, the mayor noted.
