The nineteenth Festival Flamenco de San Pedro del Pinatar, to be held on July 2, will include performances by Miguel Flores "Capullo de Jerez, Luis Heredia" El Polaco "Joaquin Gomez" El Duende "and company" The Forge. "

The councilman of Culture and Celebration of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, Mark David Grace, and festival director, Miguel Romero, today unveiled the lineup of the XIX Festival Flamenco de San Pedro del Pinatar, in memory of José Monge "Shrimp Island, which will be held on 2 July, coinciding with the anniversary of the death of the singer from Cadiz.

The councilman of Culture stressed the continuity of the festival despite the crisis and recalled the figure of Federico Martinez "Filice", creator of this event in honor of Camarón.

It has also indicated that this year we have lowered ticket prices to provide facilities to the public.

Thus, the anticipated price is 10 euros and 12 euros in ticket sales.

For his part, Miguel Romero explained that the festival, which maintains last year's slogan "In Coming of Age", this edition is based on two blocks.

Romero noted that one of the pillars of the programming is the "maturity, experience and career" by Miguel Flores "Capullo de Jerez" and Luis Heredia "El Polaco".

"Capullo de Jerez", the star of the lineup of this year, has developed an important career in the flamenco circuit, which began in his native Jerez with the likes of "Earthquake" or "Paquera" and that has led to edit multiple records, most notably "I Am Me" (2000), dedicated to shrimp.

The pure, traditional singing is also represented by Luis Heredia "El Polaco", made famous in tablaos of Granada and an expert on the songs of Zambras sacromontanas and has worked on various shows and flamenco tours.

The other block pinatarense flamenco festival is based, according to Romero, the promises of this style characterized by the "youth and spontaneity."

In this block, highlight the participation of young Joaquín Gómez "El Duende" who last December won the first prize in the under 24 years of Camarón Memorial VII National Contest, organized by Camarón de la Peña St Fernando (Cádiz).

Also serve the company "La Fragua" created a decade ago and who make up more than a dozen young singers, musicians and flamenco dancers.

"La Forge" is composed of dancers Jesus Herrera, Lola Rodriguez, Carlos Alvares Lucia Cabello and "The Piñon" as well as singers Juan Luis Trinidad "The Trini", Francisco Rodríguez "Kisko de Alcalá" and Francisco Contreras "The Elche boy "and the musicians Raul Fernandez (percussion) and Jose Manuel Tudela (Guitar).

The festival is held at the Campus Fiestas de San Pedro del Pinatar, near the Parque Condesa Villar de Felices, and tickets are available at the Modern Film Box Office and through the website www.festivalflamencosanpedrodelpinatar.com.
