San Pedro will have a network of youth participation and youth associations maintained by the municipality (29/04/2011)

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, and the councilman of Youth, Carmen Honrubia, today presented the youth participation project "Leaving Footprint", which in March was awarded the Youth Institute of Spain (INJUVE) with a grant of 10,000 euros.

The Mayor explained that the objective of this project is to create a common space where young people can interact with all of the municipality and which encourages the participation of associations, which will be responsible, together with the municipal technicians to set up this network .

It also stressed that young people have been one of the pillars of the municipal administration in recent years and "a reflection of this is this project and the Centre for Leisure and Recreation and the Youth Hostel, which is under construction ".

Projects that are intended to provide "spaces, forums and new goals for the youth to be better prepared and have entertainment options," he underlined.

For his part, Councillor for Youth, Carmen Honrubia, highlighted "the tenacity, work and technical ability of the council, that have made the project got the second prize at the Forum INJUVE Participation."

Alejandro Lopez, Youth technician and one of the promoters of the project, explained that "Leaving Footprint" with the participation of associations Four Art, Majabuka and G +1, and is based on three points of interaction.

The physical space will be the Leisure and Arts Emerging providing necessary infrastructure and multipurpose promote coexistence and participation among young people, where various activities take place.

The second pillar is a virtual space, an innovative website created and maintained by the young people where they can interact through social networks and applications such as "Participation on the fly", where young people can upload images, videos and comments easily .

Similarly, youth may "geopositioning" footprint.

That is, place the date, time and place of the various activities that are displayed on the page, which will also feature an online training platform.

Young people are the third stage of the project.

Through partnerships with technical advice from the city, a psychologist and a computer, will be responsible for developing and managing the project in different spaces.
