UPyD welcomes perform one of their electoral proposals: the lowering of salaries of politicians (08/07/2011)

Union, Progress and Democracy was the only political party in San Pedro del Pinatar defended in the last election campaign the lowering of salaries of councilors and the Mayor, which stood at the beginning of the last term of 2,000 € to the councilmen with half dedication, 2950 for full-time and 5,000 € for the Mayor.

While the perceived opposition spokesmen € 1,100 and the other councilors of the opposition € 900.

These figures were, as is obvious, disproportionate to a city of nearly 24,000 people and represented a clear political privilege.

That is why UPyD defended the salary reductions as a first step to take after the elections.

This measure, despite being heavily criticized by some members of other parties, is to be applied by the PP in these difficult times, so UPyD, has publicly applauded.

In addition, José Luis Ros recognized in full "the demanding work that the PP has done by releasing only a councilor, the rest at half-time" and according to their own mayor, working the same hours as if they were released.

UPyD regrets, however, the absurd position of the Socialist Party of San Pedro, opposing the use of acronyms UPyD in full, based on a purely nomination, arguing that it was time to call in the Joint Group UPyD .

This opposition is wholly unjustified, as the report shows the City Clerk to endorse the legality of the formation of the group.

This is the result of lack of ideas of the PSOE in San Pedro, instead of focusing on things that matter least the citizens, just think about writing press releases on the establishment of a local group with a name, they say, wrong.

Is not it worth schoolyard?

To UPyD, after four years of Socialist Party government of this, we believe it has been shown clearly not interested in the demands and problems of pinatarenses, but maintain their share of power.

In fact, former Mayor Jose Maria Garcia Ruiz, called it "demagoguery" proposals by some parties calling for salary reductions.

As UPyD is the only one who has asked the campaign, José Luis Ros said these statements: "UPyD raises the salary reduction, not elimination, and does so because they are too high.

What is unacceptable is EUR 5000 act, as you did at the beginning of the last legislature.

That's a joke to pinatarenses.

I would like to come out into the street and count the people who charge that salary.

Demagoguery is not asking for lower wages, that is the opposite. "
